Read with us during the month of October.  The Beaumont Public Library System as well as other public libraries, schools and book stores along the Gulf Coast are reading the World War I novel, Remember Ben Clayton, by Texas author, Stephen Harrigan.  Remember Ben Clayton will be available in each of the branch libraries.  You may borrow a copy for two weeks.  The Beaumont Public Library System is working with the Best Year’s Center to present a book discussion at the Best Years Center located on Fourth Street.  The book discussion will take place on Friday, October 10 at 10:00am.  Some of the branches are offering themed programs based on the book and the era it takes place.  The Elmo Willard Library will be offering two films with the World War I theme.  On Saturday, October 4, at 2pm at the Willard Library.  On Saturday, October 25, at 2pm at the Willard Library.  A World War I photographic display will be available in each of the branches.  Look for a special display of World War I letters to go along with the photographs provide by the Tyrrell Historical Library.
